Our Journey

Lake Church’s unique story began with a vision to create something new while honoring the legacy of those who came before us. For many years, the faithful members of Lake Martin Baptist Church prayed for a fresh direction. Simultaneously, Pastor Jarrett Wells was leading a dedicated group of believers who met in a home every week, growing together in their faith.

Meet Pastor Jarrett

Pastor Jarrett Wells grew up in Livingston, LA, where his life was transformed at age 21 when he placed his faith in Jesus. His love for God’s Word grew quickly, and at 26, he surrendered to the call to preach. After nearly a decade of pastoring a single church, God called him to church planting, which ultimately led to the creation of Lake Church.

Jarrett and his wife Brittany, married since 2006, are proud parents to Alivia and Nathan. In addition to leading Lake Church, Jarrett has a heart for worship and loves spending time with his family, fly fishing, and traveling.
